I guess....I mean... no. My name is Neville Longbottom....I just thought it was a little weird you were asking is all.
Oh well......Congratulations on being prefect this year!
Yeah, thanks I guess. I'm not entirely sure how that happened. I really don't think I'm all that qualified for it to be entirely honest. Course I suppose they didn't have too many options. Seamus was the only other male in the dorm. Not...that I'm better than Seamus or anything. He's definitely more....well he's had more detentions than I have so....I guess....given the circumstances and the stupid system they have going around here it's just how it worked out.
Hows this year treating you?
..... I'm still alive. That's good right? I have a feeling the Carrows hate me - heh - I'm crazy right? They clearly love everyone. Yeah, no, it's definitely not getting any better if that's what you're asking. I'm really honestly waiting for things to just fall apart. If not fall apart be packaged so tightly together no one can move without being asked what they were doing. Wouldn't be too surprising given the lot in charge. Course, with Dumbledore, Harry, Hermione, and Ron gone the slytherins are getting a bit out of control and that's another issue all together.
Out of control how?
Well, they reinstated the Inquisitorial Squad. And the lot that was a part of it in the beginning are not just slytherins but lunatics as well. Kind of makes prefects obsolete in the system really. And....well... on top of that I'm pretty sure Crabbe's been let off his leash since Malfoy's been missing. He was following Parkinson around for awhile in the beginning, but now it seems he makes his own orders these days. Powers getting to their heads, I think. Not surprising since they're all a bunch of pricks....but it's not in anyone else's favour and it could become an issue later.

Well someone's got to do something about it....
I guess.... I mean things aren't so bad yet that we actually have to do anything. It's only the end of september.... It'd be kind of stupid to pick petty battles early on and be hung out to dry before anything really happens. We're all laying low until things start heating up to a boil. I think it's better that way. People like Snape and the Carrows .... they need to feel like they're in charge of things for awhile before anything of this "doing about it" starts. You know, let them get comfortable and sloppy before upheaving their master plan. It's sort of like chess - you let the opponent get a little cocky before diving in to destroy them. A part of me kind of hopes they'll wise up and just.....not let it get to the point where we actually have to do anything about it.

Well, no, but it's okay to hope on some measure that it could.... right?
